SOC teams using SIEM such as ArcSight or QRadar find it to be a very effective tool for event correlation and alerting, but after the alert is triggered they are challenged with managing the secuirty incident effectively.
A SOAR (security orchestration, automation, and response) platform, addresses these needs by ingesting SIEM alerts, then automating and orchestrating the entire incident response process, starting with the alert and all the way to investigation and remediation.
